Hand Washing — Definition

care

Hand washing uses gentle agitation in cool water with mild detergent. Recommended for silk, delicate wool, cupro, lace, and embellished garments. Key technique: submerge without wringing; press gently; rinse in same-temperature water to avoid thermal shock. Roll in a towel to remove excess water; dry flat to preserve shape. Faster and gentler than machine washing for fragile fibres.
